Jean Leggett mastered the most important work of introducing children to books - my mother was a school librarian in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  She lived to be almost 97, remaining a curious and avid reader throughout.  Just months before she died, she helped establish a Little Free Library at her retirement community in Woodbridge, Virginia.  Jean kept a handwritten list of books she wanted to read and in honor of her 100th birthday in 2022, I am pleased to share her wide-ranging recommendations.
